Sustainable urban mobility: best practices and lessons learned along the way

This second session will approach in a concrete and specific manner the role of cities against the challenges posed by mobility in the 21st century. The session also presents different strategies and public policies implemented by cities around the world in order to promote the construction of new sustainable mobility models in urban areas. The aim is to engage discussion on those instruments and measures that have enable them to be successfully implemented, as well as to draw best practices and lessons learned.
Through the experiences shared by the speakers, we will identify the different characteristics of the transformation processes carried out in different cities and also the strategies launched to make them happen, highlighting both the factors that contributed to their success as well as the major setbacks arose during its implementation.
Discussions will allow introducing current trends in mobility, plans, projects and programmes that are being promoted and the results obtained in terms of quality of life, environmental impact, economic growth and increased competitiveness.
