Declaration of Bilbao

The Declaration of Bilbao is a document that contains a list of sustainable urban mobility commitments, bringing together stakeholders which are able and willing to drive the transformation towards a shared vision of what mobility should be like by 2030. The Declaration covers important issues such as funding, regulation, just energy transition, technological neutrality, people and goods mobility models, to name but a few.

The initiative was launched in 2019 at the first edition of SUM Bilbao. The second version of the Declaration was signed during the 2021 edition, and was drafted taking into account feedback from sponsors and collaborators of the Congress. The aim of this was to show that the Declaration wants to bring together different stakeholders to work towards a common vision of mobility, which more and more organisations are now upholding. The result is more than satisfactory: more than 50 organisations joined the Declaration, including companies from various sectors, different government levels, startups, partnerships, technology centres, universities, etc.
